We are very fortunate to have 2 outstanding candidates for the Buckden & Brampton and Alconbury & Kimbolton divisions in the County Council Elections on 4th May, 2017. Both Peter and Mike have lots of experience serving as councillors at County and District level and through their regular engagement with residents and their hard work in council have proven to be very effective servants for the community. Please support them with your vote
Peter Downes is our candidate for the division that includes the villages of Buckden and Diddington, along with Brampton, Southoe and The Offords (5 villages in total). Peter has served as a County Councillor for the last 16 years and was a District councillor for 4 years before that. From 1982 to 1996, Peter was Head of Hinchingbrooke School and is widely known and respected in the area, both for his work in school and for the contribution to the community as a councillor.
During his 16 years as a County Councillor, Peter has attended over 700 parish council meetings to support and encourage them as he is a strong believer in the importance of local communities tackling their own issues as far as they can. He has communicated frequently with residents via the Focus newsletter (over 200 published across his area, 126 in Brampton alone). Through 'surgeries' and surveys, Peter keeps in touch with constituents' concerns. You can contact him direct on 07765 833 486 or by e-mail to email@example.com.
